Marco Truffelli

Chief Executive  

Marco Truffelli was appointed Chief Executive of ETourism Ltd in July 2004 following a dedicated career as an hotelier in London, USA, the Caribbean and Scotland. He is a board member of the International Federation for IT and Travel & Tourism, a Trustee of the Hospitality Industry Trust (which raises funds to support and encourage excellence in the hospitality industry), and has also chaired the Ancestral Tourism Steering Group. Marco's career has combined an in-depth knowledge of both hotel management and the growth of emerging technologies.

Formerly the Managing Director of The Town House Company, he was responsible for directing the strategic planning and development of four luxury hotels, including Channings where he was promoted to General Manager in 1998 and Director of Information and Communication Technology. In that role he positioned the Bonham as Scotland's first 'high-tech hotel' and pioneered Scotland's first-ever launch of internet and email into hotel bedrooms.

Marco has also held senior management positions with Premier Resorts & Hotels in Florida, the Caribbean and in the Dominican Republic. He was Opening Manager of a luxury five-star resort, the Jalousie Plantation in St Lucia.

Marco is a graduate of The Liceo Classico Delpino in Rapallo, Italy and Cornell University, New York and in 2004 gained an MBA from Edinburgh University Management School. He set up home in Scotland in 1993 and has two young children.

Alison Kenny

Operations Director  

Alison has over 16 years business experience in the technology and consumer goods sectors. She has held company director and senior management roles with APX (UK) Ltd, BskyB, Sterling Software (UK) IV Ltd and Gallagher International Ltd.

Alison joined VisitScotland.com at the height of the 2005 summer season. She has a busy role overseeing the operations of the contact centre and the information technology teams located at head office.

Nick Kuenssberg OBE, BA, FCIS, CCMI, FIoD

Chairman, eTourism Ltd  

Nick Kuenssberg was appointed independent non-executive chairman of eTourism Ltd in February 2007. He is one of Scotland's most distinguished and influencial business leaders with years of UK and international experience. Nick is also currently chairman of iomart Group plc, Canmore Partnership Limited, and Keronite PLC in Cambridge. He is chairman of The Glasgow School of Art and Scottish Networks International, deputy chairman of the Scottish Environment Protection Agency and a member of Quality Assurance Agency Scotland and the Scottish Advisory Committee, British Council. He was previously a director of Coats Viyella, Dawson International, ScottishPower and Standard Life. He has been visiting professor at Strathclyde University, chairman of IoD Scotland, ScotlandIS and Scotland the Brand and a member of the Board of EventScotland.
